Parallax—Women’s Photography Exhibition.

BanksG4I just matted and framed and sent off this print of my model, Brynn. It was accepted into a photography exhibition at Gormley Gallery in Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, MD. If you happen to be in the Northeast, please attend. The show will be up from February 4 until March 15. The reception is on Saturday, February 9 from 4 to 6 pm. Martha Madigan, the juror, will be giving a gallery talk on Monday, March 4 at noon. She is the photography professor at Tyler School of Art/Temple University. I will leave it up to you to think about what parallax means perhaps metaphorically. I know it as the difference between what you see through the viewfinder and what the lens sees. The wikipedia definition is as follows: parallax is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines.
