I like it when photography goes on and becomes something else. I recently discovered Lori Vrba whose photographs are stunning. Check out her website: I am posting some of her assemblages, which I think are graceful, fragile somehow, yet lasting. Here she combines silver gelatin prints with encaustic and found objects.  Oh, and did I forget to mention, she still uses film and a darkroom. Her quote: “On a technical note…I am old school. I don’t use photoshop or any digital trickery….All of my work is captured with medium format film. I process, print and tone in my home darkroom.” Gotta love that!
